Our camp schedule runs from 9:00 am-4:30 pm and options are available for doing a half-day camp as separate AM or PM sessions.
Our online camp breakdown is as follows; the AM session has two options; one is centered on our board game curriculum, which largely focuses on problem solving and approaches to novel situations presented in game play. Kids, with guidance from our counselors, play digital board games through certain platforms like Table Topia and Board Game Arena.
The other is our creative board game design workshop that is virtually identical to our in-person program. Kids work together or individually on games that they design and construct: brainstorming ideas, incorporating game mechanics, creating a rule book, developing a prototype, and play testing. Around mid-morning, kids and staff have a break to stretch their legs and go get something to eat and drink.
The PM session focuses entirely on Role Playing Games. D&D 5e (Dungeons & Dragons) is our primary RPG for kids 4th grade and up although we also have alternative RPGs like Dungeon World, Mouse Guard, Mutants and MasterMinds. Additionally, kids below 4th grade have the opportunity to experience age-appropriate RPG’s such as, No Thank You, Evil!, Hero Kids, Index RPG, Ryuutama, and adaptive D&D 5e.
